"God bless our going out, nor less Our coming in, and make them sure; God bless our daily bread, and bless Whate'er we do -- whate'er endure; In death unto his peace awake us, And heirs of his salvation make us." This prayer of Martin Luther is a good one to be adopted by every family. We should not take a single step in life upon which we can not have God's blessing.
Still more beautiful is the blessing which Aaron and his sons were commanded to pronounce upon the children of Israel: "The Lord bless thee and keep thee: the Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: the Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace" (Num. 6:24-26). Let us prize the blessing of God as above all price.
