If you are a Christian, then it would make sense for you to thank God for the grace and salvation He gifted you on a daily basis. After all, each one of us remembers what life was like without Jesus, so we can say that this new life we have been granted is one of abundance. It is a restart.
We can also appreciate the remarkable stories that come from scripture. When Jesus healed the afflicted, and preached powerful sermons that have proven to be timeless; we know that the ministry of Jesus was something to truly admire. The resurrection, however is an account that brings scripture to an entirely different level. NT Wright says, “The resurrection completes the inauguration of God's kingdom... It is the decisive event demonstrating that God's kingdom really has been launched on earth as it is in heaven.” Praise God for exercising His power in this way.
Yes, Jesus came, He ministered, He died, and He was resurrected. As a Christian, we believe these things and begin to understand them more as we grow in faith. In my opinion, the most remarkable truth about all of this is the fact that, not only was He resurrected, but He offers His resurrection to us. Not only so that we can experience it after we die, but so we can utilize it while we are alive on earth.
Every day we can tap into the resurrection. Each moment we can make a decision to live brand new and transformed. We must be willing to give control of our life over to God so that the power of His resurrection can be full apparent in our words and deeds.
Today, thank God for the power that changed everything. The power that transformed who we are to who He wants us to be. We must continue to rely ont he resurrection.
Prayer for today: Father, thank you for coming as a peasant, dying faithfully, and resurrecting as King. Help me to remember who you are today. Amen
